Perhaps one of the greatest pleasures in life is knowing that you have brought a smile, a bit of joy, a spark of hope to someone out there. I once read in the Bible:

"Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it." -Hebrews 13:2 NIV

In March of 2002, I received a surprise in my email. It was a poem from an online friend from Louisianian, a remarkable gentleman named Irving. It seems he and his wife Bev have been enjoying my garden, and so he wrote a tribute. It is with humble gratitude to Irv's incredible talent that I share with you his creation.

LADYBUG PROPHECIES

In the beginning there was Lady Bug One
Who set the stage for a lifetime of fun
She created a means for pages of glee
And soon needed Lady Bug Two, then Three

She added lots of stuff considered quite nifty
And the ladybug helpers soon numbered fifty
She worked and worked and grew and grew
And soon Ladybugs exceeded two-twenty-two

And as pages expanded so did LadyBug's fame
Until famous notables joined in her game
Like butterflies and spiders and chickens galore
Ladybugs at work must'a passed four-forty-four

They built a pond and a garden and a red barn too
They even built a wishing well for me and you
And the number of Ladybugs to do these tricks?
Some estimates go as high as six-sixty-six

It's hard to keep up with the Ladybug's site
Checking out the goodies can keep one up all night
But she's still a'growin and for that we yell Yippee!
Congratulations to LadyBug number seven-o-three

A big {{{{group hug}}}} to Irv and Beverly from Ladybug and her whole family.
Watch for a link coming soon to more of Irving Heard's wonderful poetry.
