A garden is not complete without

Those elusive fragile creatures that flutter from flower to flower remind me of how on the net we go from page to page gathering our tid-bits of data.....sometimes pausing longer here and there when a page catches our fancy.

Butterflies have always fascinated me. Perhaps it is their delicate beauty, but even more I think it is their incredible "life journey" and the analogy to what our own lives should be.

They begin as mere worms. A bit reminiscent of a lowly existence don't you think?... Only able to crawl but hungry for the nourishment that enables growth.

Then at just the right moment as if they are hearing a voice deep within their soul, they build a cocoon, and retreat in solitude to await their rebirth.

The transformation that takes place there is truly a miracle. For a whole new being emerges...... beautiful to behold, with wings to fly and a new purpose..... to give life to it's offspring in a nurturing environment, then live out its short life peacefully, giving pleasure to others.

Could it be that God has here painted a lovely picture of what our lives are to be in the rebirth of our souls through the grace of our Savior, Jesus Christ. This is what we Christians believe...... and in the gentle nature of the butterfly, I only ask you to pause for a moment and reflect on it.
