Accordion Pocket
Book Grad Gift (exercise in "altered techniques")
The book
is made from one piece of card stock and a couple of scraps of
mat board for the covers.

Begin
with a 12 x 12 piece of card stock (you may trim off a bit on
one side to make book the height you want). Fold lengthwise, then
accordian-fold to make 4 sections, each forming a pocket.
- Tear a
diagonal strip from the top and fasten with brads
- Punch
a half-circle in the top.
- Between
sections 3 and 4, cut down about halfway. Then cut a diagonal
piece off and fold over and fasten with brads.
- Fold the
top edge down to make a "cuff" on the pocket.
Cut
2 pieces of mat board a little big bigger than the size of one
section. Glue mat board to the backs of sections 1 and 4 to
form covers, catching the ends of the ties between to secure
them.
